TECH NAVIGATOR AND IEEE XPLORE
What does the Technology Navigator have in common with IEEE Xplore?
Technology Navigator is a discovery tool that can help lead users to formulate a search through IEEE Xplore.
How is the Technology Navigator linked to IEEE Xplore?
The Technology Navigator is directly linked to IEEE Xplore via an XML gateway, allowing users to pull down citations based on IEEE topics or tags. However, if users want to use advanced search features of IEEE Xplore, they must log into IEEE Xplore.
Why does the Technology Navigator only contain abstracts in the articles tab?
The Technology Navigator extracts the Xplore abstracts matching a user's tag by design. The full articles are available for download from Xplore. A link is associated with the abstracts where a user has the option to authenticate within Xplore or purchase an article if a user does not have the access to authenticate.
How can users get full articles through IEEE Xplore?
Once a user identifies an article(s) through the Technology Navigator, they must log into IEEE Xplore. Members can do this with their web account. The web account as well as computer ID will determine whether a user is entitled to download articles. For more detailed information on access, subscription costs, etc. please check the IEEE Xplore website directly. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/
How does the Technology Navigator differ from IEEE Xplore?
Whereas IEEE Xplore contains only published content, the Technology Navigator is designed to help users identify resources, particularly upcoming conferences, that are not yet published. The Technology Navigator, unlike IEEE Xplore, enables users to browse continuously through the interplay of topics, tags, and resources.
